This year and almost the whole previous year were not easy for each of us and for the country as a whole. The fight against the epidemic continues. In these challenging circumstances the organizers of the Moscow Open were looking for a solution to keep the traditional chess festival format and to make this event happen.
Much has been done and it is very nice to please fans and enthusiasts of this beautiful game again. The traditional Moscow Open 2021 will open its doors once again and will be held from February 19 till February 28 in the Russian State Social University.
The festival program has been updated, but the format with eight tournaments has remained the same. In addition to the traditional individual tournaments of the Russian Cup stages among men and women, a chess composition tournament will be held in the offline format.
For the first time separate hybrid rapid chess tournaments (hybrid format) among men and women, boys and girls, male and female students are organized.
We could not ignore our veterans who are experiencing all hardships of fighting against the pandemic. We organize for them online rapid chess tournaments for the age groups of 50-65 y.o. and older.
We also invite all chess enthusiasts to take part in online blitz tournament and test their strength in online chess contest.
There is a business program for professional chess community that includes:
- International and all-Russian seminar;
- Online conference “Digital transformation of chess education: trends and challenges”
I would like to invite all chess enthusiasts to take part in (the seventeenth) XVII international RSSU chess Cup Moscow Open 2021.
